Stella’s Interview

Posted on July 19th, 2011

A few months ago, Arutz Sheva (Israel National Radio) interviewed Stella. I just listened again and was amazed at just how incredible my wife is. (Yes, I already knew, but every now and then she even surprises me.)

You can listen here.

During the interview she talks about her path to Judaism and Israel, with references to Samurai warriors, Potomac, and Neve Daniel. It is really a fascinating interview, especially when she speaks about her philosophy of life. Remember, the interview took place a few months before our current “Matsav.”

As far as an update, I have nothing new to report. Cancer still sucks and my wife is still amazing.

For locals, it is very important that you e-mail us before calling or stopping by since she is catching up on her “beauty sleep” — not that she needs any.

Once again, thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.

Yarden and Stella

What a pleasure listening to this interview was! I had to smile when I heard that I have yet another thing in common with Stella (besides being Japanese):

I was carrying my Dovid at my chatunah… Though we weren’t quite as ready to meet him as you were to meet your dear daughter, I did look a little funny as I listed to starboard over the heads of several women during the dancing. (Who thought it was a good idea to hoist a 6-months-pregnant woman up on a chair???)

I hadn’t heard this before. Thanks for posting – what fun! Love it Stella!

I just re-listened to this interview, which was a pleasure and a privilege by the way. A few thoughts that I wanted to share:

    1. What a warm and accepting person Stella is. So non-judgemental. How I wish more people were so accepting of every human being just for being exactly who they are.
    2. How connected Stella is to her people, Am Yisrael. The Jewish People are part of Stella’s soul, and I hope that her soul is also part of ours. I have asked my listeners to pray for Stella’s speedy and full recovery on my most recent show.
    3. How crazy she is about her family, especially Yarden. You could just hear it in her voice when she talks about you.
    4. At the beginning of the show, Stella talked about her grandparents, and I said to her, “You come from fighting people.” That Samurai spirit is still part of who she it, and I hope and pray that this is what will help her win the battle against her current enemy. Please G-d.

Wow, Judy. Thank you for writing that, and for the actions behind it.
