Bring. It. On.

Thursday, March 15th, 2012

Today’s chemo appointment was postponed. That’s not good, not bad.

It just is.

But since Stella will not be dealing with the side effects tomorrow morning, I have decided to run the full 42.2 kilometer Jerusalem Marathon.

Yeah. I know.

It’s freezing, raining, and the wind is just howling outside my window.

But you know something?

Who the hell cares that the weather is a bit unpleasant.

Celebrating Life…..and Love

Thursday, September 15th, 2011

When we first got the invitation about a month ago, we didn’t know if we would be able to go. It was the wedding of a daughter of close friends and an event that we would never, ever have missed back in the BC (before cancer) days.

But of course, the life where we were in total control (or thought we were) has changed. “We’ll try” is the best RSVP we can give right now and then see how Stella is feeling on the day of an event.

But we really wanted to go to the wedding. And we put it on the calendar, knowing that it would be during a “good” week so chances were high that we would be able to attend. Still, the plan was to go for the wedding ceremony itself, maybe the first dance, and then get home early so we could at least say we were there and wished the Bride and Groom a hearty “Mazel Tov.”

We stayed until the band stopped playing.

Running to Tiveria: Back at the Tiveria Marathon

Sunday, January 9th, 2011

A quick update from last week’s post. A representative of the Jerusalem marathon was in Tiveria and told us that they were NOT going to change the route — contrary to media reports. This now seems to be a fight between Meeretz (left-wing Israeli political party) members of the Jerusalem City Council and the Mayor’s office. For the time being, Adidas will stay out. Certainly the publicity does not hurt our cause, so good job to all who sent letters to Adidas.

Now, while that marathon is still 2 months away, let’s talk about Thursday’s Tiveria Marathon. Those who have followed my adventures know that last year, the last half of the marathon was complete hell for me as I misjudged the heat and didn’t drink enough. I ended up dehydrating and almost crawling across the finish line. While I do cherish the fact that I was able to finish, I was quite miserable at my own stupidity. If only I could do it over I thought at the time, I would do it better by being smarter.

Settler Bastards

Sunday, December 12th, 2010

Once again, the Obama Administration has demonstrated a complete lack of understanding when it comes to the Arab-Israeli conflict. While they finally understood that their attempts to impose another Israeli settlement freeze would have led to absolutely nothing beyond a few thousand unemployed Palestinian workers, Hillary did not miss the opportunity to miss the opportunity to get peace talks really on track.

Instead of demanding that her friend Abbas remove the anti-Semitic slurs from the Palestinian Authority website, she repeated the intellectually sophomoric line articulated by President Obama in one of the first of several Islamic countries he has honored with a State visit.

“We do not accept the legitimacy of continued settlement activity.”

With those simple ten words, Hillary Clinton and her boss have bastardized all Jews living, working, and protecting towns and cities that happen to lay on one side of the arbitrary non-border referred to as the “green line.”
